Weakness: None noticed so far This camera is nice,easy to use, and the quality of pictures is excellent. Batteries run out a bit quickly, but u think thats ok if you get a rechargable battery kit which is a must with most cameras these days. I recommend this camera.

Olympus D-580 4 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Sharp images, small, easy to use, great outdoor & indoor shots, built-in flash, nice size LCD monitor works in bright sun. Weakness: xD media is a little more expensive, slightly long start-up to shooting time, when it's batteries are removed only briefly, it loses its settings. The camera is a little slow from power-up to actual shooting of images, so some spontaneous shots can be missed. It was very easy to set-up and use right out of the box though, and it looks fairly stylish. The LCD monitor was effective as a viewfinder even in bright sunlight, and I found it easy to use the menu system and review all my images. The 3x optical isn't much for really long shots, but...

Olympus D-580 4 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: We took it out box, easy to set-up and work good quality pictures. printed first picture within 5 minutes of receiving it. size is great, fits in pocket and wt will not destroy yyour shirts. Weakness: cover closes hard but may wear in. The card shipped with the camera is usless. 16mb card is not adequate to even demo the camera. The screen is easy to understand and software loaded with out a problem. We like to automatic upload feature in the software. Software has good edit features.

The pictures are incredibly clear and the LCD screen is big enough to view the pictures taken. The option to record 4 sec. of sound while the picture is taken is awsome. The memory card is small so I upgraded to the 128 for $39. It is also hard on batteries so upgraded to the rechargeable package for $25. I know that it will pay off in the long run!! Takes awsome pictures and has all the best features you can get in a high end camera. A little tough on scrolling through the features but worth it when you look at the pictures. Compare to other brand, you have more choices at it's price, it's 4.0 Meg at only $208, but for most of others, usually 3.0 or 3.2 Meg at this price, so you can enjoy more benefits at lower price.

Strengths: Clear LCD display, several picture modes, can record movies w/ sound, feels sturdy, and a looks sleak.
Weakness: Doesn't come w/ rechargable batteries, and the 16MB card included doesn't hold many high quality photos. Some night shots taken don't have great quality.
