FE-200 hangs when connected to PC
Strengths: lenses may be a strength point.
Weakness: PC connection problem (hang). No TruePic TURBO™ Image Processor very Slow . If you get battery empty,you can not recontract the zoom or turn the camera off, lenses keep open until you charge.
What I do now, I power the camera on (view mode) , then I connect the cable, and I get the camera connected to the PC. The manual said that the camera has to be off, when I do this, the connection is not regular i.e. the camera sometimes connect and sometimes hang. 4mm wide angle lens setting is uncommon!
Strengths: Fairly thin, very good 2.5" display, simple operation, AA NiMH batteries seem to provide a good number of pictures per charge. No problems whatever downloading to Macintosh computers.
Weakness: Inability to choose manual settings for aperture and shutter speed, very restrictive menu choices. Plastic tripod socket threads.
You will be lucky to find a point & shoot digital camera with as wide a zoom lens as this camera (approx. 28mm equivalent in 35mm field of view)! It makes a noticeable difference in landscape and interior photos. I now carry two P&S cameras with me while hiking or traveling, and this is almost always one of them.
