Warning battery exhausted fault

Strengths: This camera has been very good and served me well for 2 years. The photo quality has been superb on many occassions for the price.

Weakness: Technical fault!!

The warning battery exhausted display has now caused the camera to not work, it simply turns itself off regardless of batteries (new/rechargeable/duracell). There has been no damage. I'm not happy, reading on the net this seems to be a fault with the camera, my guarentee has expired now I have to get a new camera:-(

Quality Camera in a Compact Body

Strengths: Nikon Quality, Image Stabilization, 8mp, 3x Optical Zoom and 4x digital zoom, AA batteries and large 2.8" LCD display.

Weakness: Flash recharge and write speed seems a little slow.

I bought this camera for the family this Christmas. We use it when carrying around our Nikon dSLR is a bit too cumbersome to lug around. Over the past month we've used this camera in normal conditions, as well as low-light and bright sunlight. We've taken shots around the house of the dog, at parties, and for a trip to Vegas. I am very pleased with this camera and the quality of images it produces. The big plus of this camera compared to some of the competitors is the VR image stabilization. Image stabilization allows you to get better shots in low light situations or when the camera or action might be moving a bit. The other big benefit is the AA batteries which means you can buy replacements virtually anywhere or choose a rechargeable option.

Don't let the camera's excellent image quality or great features fool you. The camera is light and compact but still feels balanced in the hand. My wife carries it around most of the time and constantly comments on how "cute" it is.

Great Nikon quality in a compact package. Very pleased with my purchase.

3 bought and returned

Strengths: Features, price, size

Weakness: Won't keep taking pictures as some internal failure shuts down operation with :" Warning: Battery Exhausted", showing up in the viewing screen and then camera shuts down.

I read reviews and since I own 2 other Nikons, went after a camera that seemed to be very functional and priced right for me to take 'family and vacation' pictures with better than average definition. I read reviews and since I own 2 other Nikons, went after a camera that seemed to be very functional and priced right for me to take 'family and vacation' pictures with better than average definition. I have now purchased and (as of tomorrow morning ) returned 3 of these cameras. I ran across this site while looking for another camera to purchase. I called Nikon service and Jake said he knew of 'no problem' with the L15 and that I should just return it to the store; this after I described the problem I have experienced with the first two cameras...now it is 3. These cameras were purchases from two stores of the same retail entity, over a 30 day period. I tried new batteries, recharged batteries, those supplied with the cameras and those from a store I was driving by on the way to more Christmas shopping. I tested all batteries that I tried and all tested good. I am VERY disappointed with this experience. Retailer was not a Camera Specialty store.

nice camera

Strengths: crisp pictures, colorful and no red eye

Weakness: slow

I got this camera and its better then my canon sd750
its takes nice crisp pictures
the only thing its to slow
but i preffer to be slow and take good pics
then fast and fussy pics
.the VR WOrks great !

Strengths: Nice shape. Small enough to fit in pocket, but easy to handle. , Convenient AA batteries

Weakness: inconsistent exposures, flash pix way over exposed, fuzzy images, Poor battery life.

I sent it back after a couple days of experimenting with various exposure situations. I compared it with my old Kodak 6MP camera. The images from the Nikon Coolpix L15 were much less detailed than the Kodak's. Reviewed images were fuzzy well before maximum zoom.Not much automatic about it. I had to adjust exposure compensation for each different type of shot from indoor flash to outdoor scenes in snow on sunny day. Most images were way overexposed at the "0" exposure compensation setting, so I had to shoot multiple shots at different exposure settings to find one that might be acceptable. While waiting for batteries to charge, I used a pair of new AA alkaline's. They lasted about 40 shots. I would not recommend this camera.
