Weakness: freezes up sometimes

I received this as a gift and i love it. no more going to Eckerd or walgreens to get pictures developed and put on a cd to email. its compact and easy to operate

Great camera for the price

Strengths: Picture and video quality are superb.

Weakness: Camera mode selector dial is awkward. Unlike older Kodak models, you cannot turn off the LCD screen when taking a photograph. Feels a little cheap; scratches and dents quite easily.

I got this camera as a replacement for my older Kodak camera, which I happened to drop and break right before my summer vacation to Europe. I picked the C813 because I was already familiar with the Kodak EasyShare cameras--there were very little differences in the modes available, and I did not have to learn anything new before using this camera.

As for my trip, it was a perfect choice. My pictures were stunning and the video quality has improved greatly over the older Kodak cameras. Additionally, the C813 was much faster than my older C330 when it came to taking quick pictures (oftentimes in rapid succession), which was a welcome surprise. The digital image stabilization mode, which I once thought was only found on Panasonic cameras, was incredibly handy when I toured the streets of Berlin by bike.

Although the camera design is questionable and sometimes awkward (the dial at the top of the camera is quirky and a nuisance to use, especially when switching from video to picture mode), and it is definitely not as sleek and eye-catching as more expensive Japanese models, it is still worth the price. With 8.2 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, you are still getting a very good deal for your money. Even though I've already noticed obvious signs of wear and tear (scratches, buttons loosening) despite my careful maintanance of the camera--another sign that the quality is not all that great, I'm looking forward to hopefully using this camera back home in the States for quite a long time.

I would highly recommend this camera . This is my second digital camera and far more better quality than my first one. It is a pleasure to use and the features are better than I expected. I'm happy with this purchase. The pictures I've taken have been great and you have many options like image stabilization, video, night landscape and more. This camera is also very easy to use. I would suggest that if you get this camera you purchase a memory card because although it has an internal memory it only lets you store 12 pictures. I'm happy with this purchase. The pictures I've taken have been great and you have many options like image stabilization, video, night landscape and more. This camera is also very easy to use. I would suggest that if you get this camera you purchase a memory card because although it has an internal memory it only lets you store 12 pictures. The only thing that I'm not crazy about is the lag time between the flash and actually taking the picture. I have small children and by the time I get them perfect they move and the picture captures the movement, but other than that the camera is great!
