Love this camera!Strengths: great zoom, flash burst, good video Weakness: have not found any yet! I have only had this camera for a day, but so far I am extremely impressed. I loved the burst mode in my TZ5 and to find out that this camera has a flash burst mode that I can use indoors was a great

Gone in 60 secsStrengths: I bought it for Leica lens and zoom capability of 25mm to 300mm. However the test pictures on imaging-resource seems to sharper than canon Weakness: Before I could even click a single picture, the camera gave ne System O.I.S error It seems they are trying to push too much in one camera. Before I could even click a single picture, the camera gave ne System O.I.S error. Over all zoom is quick enough and this a cheap alt to pure leica camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 (silver)
THE GOOD: Compact wide-angle lens with 12x zoom; good build quality; uncomplicated operation. THE BAD: Mixed performance; few manual features. THE BOTTOM LINE: With a flexible lens in a pocketable package, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 is a pleasing point-and-shoot megazoom--both in design and photo quality. Top

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 Review
The Panasonic ZS1 looks like a simple pocket digicam, but when you turn it on you find a very wide-angle 25mm lens that zooms optically 12 times, out to 300mm equivalent. That makes using the Panasonic ZS1 a pleasant surprise. In terms of optical and sensor quality, the Lumix ZS1 is essentially identical to the very popular and more expensive ZS3, but without a few niceties that you may or may... Top

It's a winner
Strengths: Compact, wide angle lens, 12x zoom.
Weakness: I wish it had a viewfinder and used AA batteries, though it's compact size probably prohibits both. It's worth the tradeoffs.
I had Panasonic's earliest entry into this segment of the market, the TZ-1. I liked virtually everything about that camera except the smearing of images because of noise reduction. In scenes with shadows it was murder, giving an unusable picture even in small print sizes. This camera is light-years past the TZ-1 in that regard, plus it has the phenomenal 25mm equivalent wide lens. For the money...
